Abstract
Social inequalities related to health and disease are present in our societ y A low social class is associated with higher morbidity as well as mortali ty. The present explanations of these inequalities still remain unclear. Un equally distributed resources such as education, power and capital contribu te to the social differences in health. Social-political measures must be u ndertaken to warrant an individual maximum of health to every citizen. Inve stments in the fields of education, labour market anti housing are necessar y. For nutrition counselling, social differences in health imply an extende d concept in relation to target-group, contents and methods, Reducing socia l differences in health is a great challenge to Public Health Nutrition.
