Abstract
PolyDL-lactide (PLA) and polyDL-lactide-co-polyethylene glycol (PELA) were synthesized by using allylmagnesium chloride as an initiator. The reaction conditions of homo-polymerization of DL-lactide such as reaction time, reac tion temperature and monomer/initiator molar ratio are discussed. The polym er was characterized by H-1-NMR, IR, DSC and GPC. The results indicate that allylmagnesium chloride is quite effective for the ring-opening polymeriza tion of LA.
