Abstract
We examined predictors of participation and adherence to a home environment al intervention with 100 dementia family care givers. Participation was mea sured as the number of home visits, adherence as the number of problems add ressed and strategies used. Being older and female predicted participation. Adherence was predicted by older age, lower depression, and having a less dependent person to care for. We speculate that depression should be viewed as a moderator of treatment, not an outcome.
