Abstract
The population of total bacteria, fungi, nitrogen fixing bacteria and phosp horus solubilising microorganisms increased with fluvalinate treatment, but the same treatment decreased actinomycetes population. Lower dose of fluva linate significantly increased the population of thiosulphate oxidising bac teria while higher dose showed a non-significant effect over control. Nitro gen fixing and phosphorus solubilising potential were increased with both d oses of fluvalinate, whereas thiosulphate oxidising potential was stimulate d by lower dose only. The higher dose reduced the thiosulphate oxidising po tential.
