Abstract
We fabricated and characterized a tunable dispersion compensator for multip le wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) channels using a sampled nonlinear ly chirped fiber Bragg grating. The channel dispersion can be adjusted from -200 to -1200 ps/nm. We demonstrate tunable dispersion compensation for th ree channels in a 10-Gb/s WDM system. All three channels achieve a BER = 10 (-9) after propagating through either 60 or 120 km of standard single-mode fiber.
