Abstract
Based on a novel large-signal dynamic analysis, external optical feedback r esistant single-mode LD's were designed and realized. Under -14 dB external optical feedback, isolator-free 2.5-Gb/s 45-km transmission was demonstrat ed over a wide temperature range from -40 degrees C to +80 degrees C for th e first time.
