Reaction of Rb-2(O2CMe)(4) and bis(2-pyridyl)amine, Hdpa, followed by addit
ion of CH2Cl2 led to replacement of the acetate groups by Hdpa and orthomet
allation of two Hdpa pyridyl groups. The isolated complex, [Rh-2{mu-(C5H3N)
NH(C5H3N)}(2)(eta(2)-(C5H4N)NH(C5H4N}(2)]Cl-2 (1), has been characterized b
y X-ray crystallography, showing that the complex has two equatorially boun
d Hdpa groups and two bridging orthometallated dpa anions. (C) 1999 Elsevie
