Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy, Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10, Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr1.8Ca2Cu3Oy, and Bi1.7Pb0.2Sb0.
1Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox superconducting ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction
s, and a technique was developed for producing thick (h similar or equal to
0.2 mm) Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr1.8Ca2Cu3Oy and Bi1.7Pb0.2Sb0.1Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox films on ce
ramic and single-crystal ZrO2 substrates. The materials were characterized
by x-ray diffraction and electrical measurements. The structure of the film
s was identical to that of 2223. They showed semiconducting or metallic beh
avior, depending on substrate type (polycrystalline or single-crystal) and
heat-treatment conditions.
