ZrNi2In and ZrCu2In crystallise with the cubic MnCu2Al-type structure (spac
e group Fm (3) over bar m) with the lattice parameters a = 6.288(1) Angstro
m and 6.338(1) Angstrom, respectively. At ambient temperatures ZrNi2In is a
Pauli paramagnet with a magnetic susceptibility of 2.5 x 10(-4) emu/mole,
whereas ZrCu2In is diamagnetic with the temperature independent susceptibil
ity of -2.7 x 10(-5) emu/mole. Both compounds show a metallic type of the e
lectrical conductivity. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
