Abstract
Carrier-free radionuclides of mercury and gold Hg-192,Hg-193 and Au-192,Au- 193 have been produced by heavy ion activation of tantalum target with 95 M eV O-16(5+) beam obtained from an ECR ion source. An effective radiochemica l separation scheme has been developed to isolate gold and mercury radionuc lides from the tantalum target matrix.
