Abstract
The design and performance of the Astrid-2 magnetometer are described. The
magnetometer uses mathematical routines, implemented by software for commer
cially available digital signal processors, to determine the magnetic field
from the fluxgate sensor. The sensor is from the latest generation of amor
phous metal sensors developed by the Department of Automation at the Techni
cal University of Denmark.
