Abstract
A synthesis of 1-(beta-D-ribofuranosyl)-pyridin-2-thiones via reaction of 3 -cyanopyridin-2(1H)-thiones with 2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-D-ribofuranosyl bromid e under basic conditions, followed by hydrolysis with methanolic ammonia is reported
