Abstract
An inverse analysis is presented for simultaneous estimation of be temperat ure distribution and the boundary emissivities for an emitting nonscatterin g, gray, plane-parallel medium from the knowledge of the exit radiation int ensities at boundary surfaces. The inverse problem is solved by using a lea st squares method: In this approach a zeroth-order regularization method is used to stabilize the solution. The effects of the measurement errors on t he accuracy of the inverse analysis are investigated. The study shows that the temperature profile can be estimated accurately, even with noisy data, and the estimation of boundary emissivities is more sensitive to increases in measurement errors.
