Abstract
The mathematical formulae of the optical path length and the negative group -velocity dispersion in a single-prism and wedge mirror system in a Ti:sapp hire laser are given. Both the theoretical analyses and the experimental re sults show that the group-velocity dispersion is directly proportional to t he distance between the prism and the Ti:sapphire crystal, and the amount o f the negative group-velocity dispersion generated by a single-prism and we dge mirror system may approach that generated by a pair of prisms.
