Abstract
Once a diagnosis of urinary tract infection is established, effective treat ment is essential to resolve the disease quickly and to prevent serious lon g-term consequences. The authors review the causative pathogens of these in fections, describe methods for treatment of infections of varying severity, and discuss other therapeutic considerations.
