The Al-Cu-Zr alloy was prepared from the rapidly solidified powder. The res
ulting fine grained structure contains mostly low angle interfaces. The gra
dual increase in the mean misorientation angle between neighbouring grains
occurs during plastic deformation at temperatures between 700 and 773 K. Su
perplastic behaviour was found at temperatures between 700 and 750 K at the
strain rates of the order 10(-2) s(-1). The loss of superplasticity observ
ed both at low strain rates and at higher temperatures was explained on the
base of structure development.
