A magnetotransport study has been performed in II-VI ZnS0.06Se0.94 / Zn0.8C
d0.2Se quantum wells. We observed the quantum effects of weak localization
and electron-electron interactions on the two-dimensional electron gas in t
he Zn0.8Cd0.2Se well. The effective mass of electrons in this highly correl
ated system, determined from Shubnikov-de Haas measurements, exhibits a str
ong magnetic field dependence: m*m(0) = 0.143 + 0.0027 B-2. The mass enhanc
ement is attributed to the "dressing" of electrons by the many-particle eff
ect due to electron-electron interactions. [S0163-1829(99)50540-7].
