Abstract
A value of P-odd circular polarization, P-c' = -(1.00 +/- 0.18) x 10(-4), f or the 77.3-keV (M1 + E2) gamma transition in the Au-197 spherical nucleus has been determined by the Compton polarimetry technique for the first time . After subtraction of the E2 contribution, the value P-c = -(1.1 +/- 0.2) x 10(-4) of the actual P-odd effect has been obtained for the M1 multipole.
