Abstract
We report an outbreak of brucellosis among 9 patients in a meat-packing pla nt. All patients developed chronic brucellosis characterized by severe chro nic muscutoskeletal pains, diffuse arthralgia, myalgia and recurrent bouts of fever, which we suggest may be related to a delay in antibiotic treatmen t. All the patients had a prolonged recovery requiring rehabilitation thera py.
