Abstract
Meso,meso'-buta-1,3-diyne-bridged Cu(II) octaethylporphyrin dimer thin film s have been deposited by the Langmuir-Blodgett method and, for the first ti me, have been considered as the active layer in resistive gas sensors. The effects of exposure to different gases like to nitric oxides, ammonia, etha nol and carbon monoxide on the electrical conductive properties of LB films have been analysed. A surprising higher sensitivity to nitric oxide with r espect to nitric dioxide has been observed. In addition, the conductivity o f our analysed LB films resulted unaffected by ammonia, ethanol and carbon monoxide. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
