Abstract
The affinity of tetrabenzo[a,c,g, i]fluorene (Tbf) for charcoal has been ap plied successfully to provide an alternative to existing solid phase synthe sis methodology. In a synthesis of the quinolone antibacterial, Ciprofloxac in, traditional solution phase synthesis has been coupled with efficient ps eudo-solid phase purification.
