Abstract
Stress strain curves of the aluminium chromium alloys containing trace amou nts of rare earths at various strain rates are used to determine the parame ters of work hardening at various stages. The influence of strain rate and ageing temperature on the work hardening parameters is studied. From the re sults of experiments, the deformation behaviour of the above alloys is anal ysed. The high values of strain rate sensitivity measured in the above allo ys at different ageing temperatures are indicative of dormant superplastici ty, and an explanation on the basis of microstructural analysis is attempte d.
