Abstract
A finding of the 36-chromosomal gray marmot from Novosibirsk oblast (Russia ) is reported. The described karyotype differs from Marmota baibacina one i n a tandem fusion of two autosome pairs. A NORs banding of M. baibacina was obtained for the first time.
