In order to asses risk of recurrence in patients primary surgically treated
for Endometrial Adenocarcinoma (EA), 26 Italian Gynecological Surgery deci
ded, from 1990 until 1997, to collect data on their consecutive patients. 2
373 patients were assigned to three risk groups: R1 (1415 pts) in which no
Adjuvant Therapy (AT) was indicated; R2 (472 pts) in which External Radio T
herapy (ERT) was indicated; R3 (486 pts) in which eligible patients (340 pt
s) were assigned to a randomized trial in which postsurgical Chemotherapy (
CH; 175 pts) was compared with ERT (165 pts). From the analysis of our resu
lts both treatment in R3 group don't seem able to influence the site of rel
apse, but we need a longer follow-up to confirm this finding.
