Abstract
We studied the effects of differential agent retinoic acid on the expressio n of the transforming growth factor-beta isoforms in cultured OC-117-VGH ov arian cancer cells. Treatment of OC-117-VGH cells with retinoic acid for 16 hrs did not reduced cellular proliferation but reduced the expression of t he transforming growth factor-beta isoforms. Determination of expression of the transforming growth factor-beta isoforms by enzyme-linked immunosorben t assay (ELISA) revealed that the transforming growth factor-beta isoforms expression were reduced by 15%similar to 25%. Our results showed the import ant role of retinoic acid in the expression of the transforming growth fact or-beta isoforms in ovarian cancer cells.
