Abstract
In this phase II multicentric trial the combination of bleomycin, ifosfamid e and carboplatin was used to treat neoadjuvantly 24 patients with locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. We observed 75% of objectiv e responses (OR). All 18 responders went to surgery: 16 attained substantia l tumor regression and had a potentially curative surgery. Three patients a ttained complete response (CR) pathologically documented: no tumor was foun d in the surgical specimen. The 45-month relapse-free survival is 75%. CT w as very well tolerated. Accrual onto this study continues.
