Super high dose CDDP intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy with percutaneous pelvic perfusion under extracorporeal chemo-filtration circuit for locally advanced cervical carcinoma
S. Takeuchi et al., Super high dose CDDP intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy with percutaneous pelvic perfusion under extracorporeal chemo-filtration circuit for locally advanced cervical carcinoma, 7TH BIENNIAL MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL GYNECOLOGIC CANCER SOCIETY, 1999, pp. 479-484
As a management of locally advanced cervical carcinoma with stage IIIB and
IVA, a super high dose (140-240 mg/m(2)/course) infusion with percutaneous
pelvic perfusion with chemo-filtration was performed for 18 patients (pts)
and the efficacy was evaluated. This procedure was performed twice before s
urgery and/or radiotherapy. Fifteen out of 18 pts were evaluable. The avera
ge absorption rate of free-Pt was 84.2%. Adverse effects of CDDP were minim
al. Response was 100% (2CR+13PR/15) and pathological CR was obtained in two
cases. Overall survival rate was 73.3%. It seems that using this neo-adjuv
ant chemotherapy the outcome of patients with this locally advanced disease
will be improved.
