This randomized controlled Trial evaluated the efficacy and tolerance of tw
o different schedules of Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT) using oral micr
onized 17 beta estradiol (valerate) (E2) 2 mg/day and oral Micronized Proge
sterone (MP) 200 mg/day for 14 days each month (arm A) or each every three
month (arm B). After 12 months of treatment, both schedules shown highly ab
ility to decrease climacteric symptoms, offering predictable bleeding patte
rn and antiatherogenic changes in lipid profile.
