P. Koliba et al., Hormonal intervention in perimenopausal and postmenopausal period, 9TH INTERNATIONAL MENOPAUSE SOCIETY WORLD CONGRESS ON THE MENOPAUSE, 1999, pp. 321-323
We report on analysis of women who underwent the endometrial biopsy. Some p
atients were without hormonal medication and some of them were treated by h
ormonal therapy. We suppose that use of exogenous hormones either progestog
ens in perimenopausal period or HRT in postmenopausal women could have effe
ctive protective influence on the endometrium. It reduces serious endometri
al pathology as atypical hyperplasia and carcinoma as well as the need of i
nvasive diagnostic procedures in this period.
