In this article, the method of time domain self-reciprocity calibration is
given. A time domain echo voltage can be obtained once a time domain excita
tion current flows through an ultrasonic transducer (UT). The current. is a
ccurately measured by a special current clamp. The UT sensitivities can be
obtained by performing Fourier transform of the time domain excitation curr
ent and the time domain echo voltage. The calibration method used in this a
rticle possesses such advantages as high calibration speed, wide frequency
band and simple operation procedure. Moreover, there is an obvious merit th
at the UT phase-frequency curve could be obtained. By comparing the results
of time domain self-reciprocity calibration with those obtained by using f
requency domain method, it is found that two results well agree with each o
ther.
