We report a high frequency resolution acouto-optic (AO) spectrum analyzer b
ased on a semiconductor laser. The requirements for the semiconductor laser
characteristics will be defined in order to achieve high frequency resolut
ion of the spectrum analyzer. The performance of the compact AO spectrum an
alyzer based on a semiconductor laser of wavelength 0.65 mu m and a TeO2 Br
agg cell will be reported. This analyzer has a central frequency of 75 MHz
and bandwidth 50 MHz, and was 1000 frequency channels.
