Abstract
The study of Aloysia gratissima essential oil by gas chromatography mass sp ectrometry and retention index determined that the main compounds were tran s-verbenol (2.8%), beta-caryophyllene (3.3%), caryophyllene oxide (11.0%) a nd cadinol (33.0%). A, gratissima's oil exhibited antimicrobial activity ag ainst Staphylococcus aureus. Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtillis.
