The inventory of planktonic Crustacea and Rotifera of the Tunisian continen
tal waters have permitted the census of 114 tars (44 rotatoria, 36 cladocer
a, 10 calanoida and 24 cyclopoida). Twenty-three species are mentioned for
the first time in Tunisia. According to their biogeographical affinities th
ese two faunistic stocks present a double origin, palearctic and ethiopian.
