Structure elucidation of two secoiridoid glucosides from Jasminum officinale L. var. grandiflorum (L.) Kobuski

Phytochemical investigation of the dried leaves of Jasminum officinale var. grandiflorum has led to the isolation of two new secoiridoid glucosides, ( 2"R)-2"-methoxyoleuropein and (2"S)-2"-methoxyoleuropein, together with fou r known secoiridoid glucosides, oleuropein, ligstroside, demethyloleuropein and oleoside dimethyl eater, a lignan, (-)-olivil and p-hydroxyphenethyl a lcohol. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated from chemical a nd spectroscopic evidence.
