Abstract
Boria-alumina mixed oxides were synthesized by the sol-gel method. MAS-NMR spectroscopy spectra exhibited two boron species, BO3 and BO4, the former g iving an important second order quadrupolar effect. Then, spectra were inte rpreted with a simulation software which permitted quantitative evaluation of boron species in both dried and calcined states. Tetrahedral Al species formed in the dried state appear to monitor BO4 and BO3 species formation i n both dried and calcined states. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
