A coordinated optimal (CDO) controller is designed to implement multiple Th
yristor Controlled Series Compensation (TCSC) devices in a transmission net
work of interconnected power systems. The proposed controller is utilized t
o damp inter-area oscillations and to enhance power system damping during l
arge disturbances. The effectiveness of the CDO controller to properly cont
rol such devices is demonstrated for a two-machine power system through rea
