Abstract
The densities in the temperature range 288.15 K to 308.15 K and the viscosi ties in the temperature range 293.15 K to 308.1!j K of the binary systems g amma-butyrolactone + o-xylene and m-xylene were measured. Viscosity data we re correlated by the Heric, McAllister, and Hind-McLaughlin-Ubbelohde equat ions. Viscosity deviations from mole fraction linearity and excess volumes were calculated and found to be negative. Excess volumes were also fitted t o a Redlich-Kister type equation.
