One-hundred and forty-one pressure-volume-temperature data points for 1,1,1
,2,3,3-heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea) in the gaseous phase have been measur
ed using Burnett/isochoric methods. Burnett expansion measurements were mad
e both at 363.15 K and at 318.15 K. On the basis of the pressure-density re
lationships established at 363.15 K and 318.15 K, data were collected along
nine isochores for temperatures from 283 to 377 K and pressures from 0.26
to 2.5 MPa. The maximum temperature uncertainty and maximum pressure uncert
ainty in this work were estimated to be within +/-10 mK and +/-500 Pa, resp
ectively. On the basis of the present data and results from the literature,
the parameters of a virial equation of state were determined to represent
the gaseous thermodynamic properties of HFC-227ea. The purity of the sample
used in this work is 99.9 mol %.
