Blast loading on petrochemical buildings

This paper covers the development of the design blast loads for buildings i n petroleum refineries and petrochemical plants as reported by the ASCE Tas k Committee on Blast Resistant Design. It briefly discusses the overall des ign process for such buildings and the considerations and methods far predi cting the blast loading from vapor cloud explosions. The main focus is on d etermining the building component loads once the incident blast overpressur e is defined.
