The effect of hot pressing conditions (sintering temperature and time) on t
he superconducting properties of (2223) Bi(Pb)SrCaCuO were investigated by
transport and magnetic measurements. The advancement of the densification p
rocess leads first to an improvement of the electrical connectivity between
grains (J(c transport) increases) and then to a deterioration of both intr
agranular and intergranular properties (T-c, J(c magnetic) and J(c transpor
t) decrease) because of the induced loss of oxygen, 2212 continuous intergr
ain network and other defect formation. (C) 1999 Kluwer Academic Publishers
