Abstract
Methods used for trace (sub-ppm) detection of mercury are reviewed. In cluded are spectrometric methods such as atomic absorption, fluorescen ce, emission, and mass spectrometry; electrochemical methods; and as r adiometric methods as well as other common and novel techniques. Limit s of detection are reported where given, and advantages and disadvanta ges are compared.
