The 4d photoabsorption spectrum of Cd I-like Sn III has been recorded in th
e 25-50 eV region using the dual-laser plasma (DLP) technique. Transitions
from the 4d(10)5s(2) ground state dominate the Sn III spectrum with some co
ntribution from the metastable P-3(2) and P-3(0) levels of the excited 4d(1
0)5s5p configuration also observed. Transitions were identified with the ai
d of multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock calculations.
