The generalized oscillator strength distributions (GOSDs) of helium for the
energy region of 24.6-44.6 eV are determined by an angle-resolved electron
-energy-loss spectrometer at an incident electron energy of 2500 eV and wit
h the momentum transfer range of 0.01 to 0.90 au. A new method of correctin
g the influence of angular resolution to obtain the correct GOSDs and optic
al oscillator strength distributions is advanced. The present results are a
lso compared with previous experimental and theoretical results.
