Abstract
Surgeons must consider the site for cancellous bone graft procurement in im mature animals (< 13 months old), because disturbance of an open physis may result in abnormal bone growth.) Cancellous bone should be obtained from the crest of the ilium in immature animals, because there is little chance that disturbed growth will result i n a major clinical problem at this site.
