Abstract
Variations with period T=10.4+/-0.3 yr are identified in annual mean d ata on the polar coordinates of the Earth, variations in the length of the day, relative sunspot numbers, integrated seismic energy, and sou thern oscillation index. Linear phase filtering and autoregression ana lysis were used to detect and compare these oscillations. There is som e evidence for synchronization of solar sunspot formation and variatio ns in the Earth's polar co-ordinates and the length of the day. The po ssible influence of sunspot formation on variations in the southern os cillation index and of the integrated seismic energy is discussed.
