Various aspects of the design of microprocessor systems for velocity, accel
eration, and position measurements are considered. The velocity-measuring m
ethod described differs from known methods in that it has minimal errors in
the range of velocities from fractions of a rotation to the maximum rotati
on frequency and requires a microprocessor: The position and acceleration a
re measured at the same rime as is the velocity.
