Ms. Cho et al., SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ELECTRORHEOLOGICAL COPOLYANILINE, Journal of macromolecular science. Pure and applied chemistry, A34(5), 1997, pp. 901-906
Copolyaniline containing phenyl sulfonic acid sodium salt pendent, was
chemically synthesized and used for its characterization as an electr
orheological (ER) fluid. Its chemical structure and particle shape wer
e analyzed using an FT-IR, C-13-NMR, and SEM. Copolyaniline particles
have irregular and lamellar morphology. This ER fluid was prepared by
dispersing polymer particles in silicone oil and was characterized by
a rotational Haake rheometer with a high voltage generator. Typical ER
behavior was found in the copolyaniline suspension.
