Tp. Sastry et al., GRAFT-COPOLYMERIZATION OF GLYCIDYLMETHACRYLATE ONTO FIBRIN PREPARED FROM SLAUGHTERHOUSE WASTE, Journal of macromolecular science. Pure and applied chemistry, A34(5), 1997, pp. 915-925
Fibrin collected from the slaughter house in crude form was purified.
The purified fibrin was graft copolymerised with poly-glycidylmethacry
late (PGMA) and characterised for the percentage of grafting. The infr
ared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, of the composite wer
e studied. This biomaterial could be used as a drug delivery system af
ter coupling the suitable antibiotic through the epoxy functional grou
ps introduced by PGMA.
