Abstract
Chapin and colleagues demonstrate that simultaneous recordings from ensembl es of cortical and thalamic neurons can be decoded in real time to allow a rat to control a robotic arm. These results may ultimately lead to the desi gn of brain-operated prosthetic devices for human patients.
