Abstract
The reaction of [Pt3Ph(mu-PPh2)(3)(PPh3)(2)] (1) with various silanes and s iloxanes afforded the first platinum clusters containing a direct Pt-Si bon d that could be characterized by X-ray diffraction, in the case of [Pt-3{Si (OSiMe3)(3)}(mu-PPh2)(3)(PPh3)(2)] (2a): the redox properties of the 44-ele ctron clusters 1 and [Pt-3{Si(OMe)(3)}(mu-PPh2)(3)(PPh3)(2)] (2b) have been studied by cyclic voltammetry.
